JEAN PIERRE VAN OVERSCHELDE

After Marc Coucke, CEO of soccer team RSCA Anderlecht revealed the use of code name 'Jean Pierre Van Overschelde' for Vincent Kompany during his transfer, we saw an opportunty to turn this into storytelling that would promote our own agency as well as RSC Anderlecht's spectacular transfer. We created a "real" Jean Pierre Van Overschelde who felt ridiculed by the media around his name and demanded a conversation with Coucke. Jean Pierre's story made it to the national and international press for three weeks. He even popped up at the official press conference of Vincent Kompany. In the end, a video message was sent to Coucke and the news channels revealed Jean Pierre's true purpose and demonstrated the impact of good storytelling, combined with a smart PR strategy and an eye for detail.
